The Afzaal Memorial Thalassemia Foundation (AMTF) approached us for help and support and as a company we have always believed in giving back to the society in as many ways as possible. Currently they have 1400 registered children suffering from thalassemia that is religiously catered to with all the possible medic care that can be administered by the foundation. They started with a modest meager means in November 2003 in Karachi. They established a Thalassemia Centre providing leading edge, advanced personalized thalassemia care. AMTF has become a pioneer and is proud to be having Pakistan’s first state of the art Thalassemia Intensive Care Unit (ICU) with all essential sub-specialties clinics, medical & diagnostics services for the patients suffering from thalassemia. At AMTF, 100% patients are treated free of cost with the concept that “Our Patients are Our Guest”. They get referrals from all over Pakistan; especially from the province of Sindh & Baluchistan. The project is dedicated to the parents of patients suffering with blood disorders and they are the actual driving force. At the Karachi site, a blood drive was organized under the banner of Red Club; Red Club is a one of a kind club at the PK site that works on engaging employees as members and volunteers for different fun learning and CSR activities. A total of 130 employees donated blood that will be used in 3 different ways for blood transfusion purposes. Sunil Sultan, Business Analyst of Square Trade led the entire drive towards success. The Red Club has many other plans for supporting AMTF who are working towards creating a society where all blood disorders can be managed under one roof.
